In general, the branch of knowledge that deals with the study of state and system of government, which means, the scientific analysis of political activity and behaviour is known as Political Science.
• Nature
- it is a social science, this means that it is concerned with relations between human beings and their societies
- politics is not only a mere institution of governance but also mechanism for achieving societal goals
- political science is the study of the state in the past present and future.
- it also includes the study of political organisation, political process and political functions.
- studies of Political Science also include the study of political institutions, political theories, public polity, National politics, international relations etc.
